I’m a freelance travel writer whose work has appeared in National Geographic Traveler, American Way, AAA Highroads, Wine Enthusiast, Disney’s Family Fun, and many other publications. I also contribute regularly to ShermansTravel.com and have authored two books, Backroads & Byways of Indian Country and Great Escapes Arizona.
My life—and the way I think about travel—changed on September 8, 2013, when my 49-year-old husband suffered a stroke. (To read the story, click here.) As our new reality sank in, I watched our travel dreams go up in smoke. We would never explore the Australian Outback, throw back a pint in Ireland, bicycle through the Italian countryside or fish for salmon in Alaska.
And, then, I thought, why not? Why couldn’t we do those things and more? I wanted to create a site dedicated to travel possibilities for those with mobility issues and physical limitations of any kind. My goal is to give you tips and strategies for visiting destinations and to open your eyes to different experiences you can have through our experiences and those of other inspirational travelers and adventurers. Enjoy the world!
